“The Manathlon is a unique, entertaining event for a very worthwhile cause and we are thrilled to be kicking it off here in Halifax,” commented Derek Martin, President, Sports & Entertainment Atlantic. “Our hope is that The Manathlon brings awareness of this disease to the forefront and encourages men to talk about testicular cancer and the importance of early detection.” Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men between the ages of 15-29. Although it accounts for only 1% of all cancers in men, it is the number one cancer killer among men in their 20’s and 30’s. When caught early, it is often easily treatable and curable. Making men aware of the signs, symptoms and risk factors is the best way to combat this disease.
“101.3 The BOUNCE is excited to take part in the first ever Manathlon!” says Matt Cleveland, Director of Marketing for C100 and The Bounce and one of the first Manathlon sponsors. “Testicular Cancer is an issue that is extremely important for our young people to be made aware of. A unique and fun event like this one will shine a light on a form of cancer that often goes unnoticed.”
