Teams competing in the Manathlon will consist of 5 members tasked with raising money for the Canadian Testicular Cancer Association, through individual fundraising events and pledges.  As a reward for fundraising efforts, each team will compete in the most unique and manly challenges imaginable at the Manathlon and be crowned the manliest team in Halifax.

Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young men between the ages of 15-29. Although it accounts for only 1% of all cancers in men, it is the number on cancer killer among men in their 20’s and 30’s. When caught early, it is often easily treatable and curable. Making men aware of the signs, symptoms and risk factors is the best way to combat this disease.

The Manathlon event will take place during Testicular Cancer Awareness week Saturday, April 7th, 2012. Saturday morning will give teams a chance to try their hand at the events before competing on Saturday afternoon with a celebration that night at a private VIP concert, where all donors will be invited to the party with the teams. The event will consist of 10 different challenges with each team member competing in 2 that will test all facets of their manliness. Teams will be awarded points for each challenge, the five teams with the highest points in total after 10 challenges will move on to the final round. The final challenge will be a team event, requiring all 5 members to participate. A final set of points will be awarded after the team event and a winner announced.
